MISSION

The mission of the MES/LV PTA is to enrich the educational experience of our children by building a vibrant and active school community. In addition, the PTA provides information and outreach to encourage the involvement of all parents, teachers, and students in the educational, financial and volunteer support of our classrooms.

WHAT IS THE PTA?

PTA stands for Parent-Teacher Association (PTA). Our PTA at Matsunaga Elementary/Longview School (MES/LV) works under the larger PTA structure of the Montgomery County Council of Parent-Teacher Associations (MCCPTA). The MCCPTA is chartered by the state-level Maryland PTA. Through this chain, our local PTA is linked to the National PTA.

PTA is a volunteer child advocacy association in the nation and provides children, parents and teachers with a powerful voice to speak on behalf of every child while providing tools to help their children be successful students.

At our school, the MES/LV PTA works with membership dues and fundraising dollars to provide valuable resources to our students and teachers in the classroom to benefit all our children.

Along the way…we hope to make it fun for students and to make memories that last a lifetime!
